Ruby red in colour, with predominantly floral aromas of violet, iris, lily of the valley and peony. Its red fruit flavours are a remarkable expression of Gamay. Chiroubles is gourmet by nature, giving drinkers the pleasant sensation of sliding down the palate.
Grape variety : 100% Gamay noir à jus blanc.
Nature of the soils : Almost all of our soils are composed of pink granite. We also have ‘gore’: a type of sandresulting from the erosion of the adjacent rocks, and gives the Gamay grapevariety near-perfect growing conditions in which to produce a light texture.

Average age of the vines : 50 years old.
Alcohol : 13.7 % vol
Vine tending : pruning by hand. Prunings minced and left on the ground. Trellisedplots. 25% seeded sodded bands. Handpicked harvesting.
Vinification and maturing: Semi-carbonic maceration at 30°C (86°F) in temperature controlledstainless steel tanks. 7 to 9 days vatting depending on the vintage. Agedbetween 7 to 10 months in stainless steel or expoxy coated cement vats.
Tasting notes : Intense ruby red color, dominant floral notes of iris, violet, lily ofthe valley and peony. Its red fruits taste qualities remarkably express theGamay variety. By nature, Chiroubles is a delicious wine that gives the amateura pleasant smooth sensation on the palate.
